I’m Steven, a Biological Sciences graduate from Tianjin University. My studies brought together molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, and cell biology.

In the laboratory, I’ve worked with DNA, studied bacterial cultures, and investigated molecular markers in plants. These experiences have shaped the way I work: following procedures carefully, keeping accurate records, and learning through practical exploration.

I value teamwork and am always willing to learn.

Exploring the genetics
of celery.

I independently investigated molecular markers associated with solid and hollow petiole traits in celery (Apium graveolens). My work included primer design, DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and marker screening.

Using SnapGene and DNAMAN, I analyzed candidate genomic regions and DNA sequences to evaluate potential markers for distinguishing these traits.
